It is unfortunate but true; the way you present your project matters.
We have seen brilliant projects fail to access finance through lack of documentation, or at times simply because it is poorly presented.
Presenting a project is part science and part art. There is a balance that constantly changes as a project is developed and as audiences are engaged. Project presentations should develop an understanding and buy-in to the project that leaves your audience feeling like they are collaborating to ensure its success.
Document
Providing the correct level of detail at the appropriate stage of development is essential to generate and maintain engagement.
CPF commonly utilises a number of types of documentation that provide appropriate information for different stages of engagement. We specialise in making these flexible and traceable to ensure that projects can be simultaneously structured for multiple audiences and that it is straight forward to keep track of what information has been provided to all stakeholders.
Thumbnails, or ‘Teasers’, are exactly what the names imply; a short and simple precis with high level financial information, eye catching graphics and attention to key details that drive interest and engagement with the project.
Project Notes, used and tailored for a number of audiences, can provide more detail where required. Often focussing on a specific stakeholder, from investors to government departments, project notes will provide detailed information on specific areas of the project and high level information covering the project as a whole.
Finance Packs provide detailed forecast information taken from financial models that allow a comprehensive view of the key financial statements and a breakdown of underlying revenue and expenditure assumptions. These may be presented as static documents or as interactive models depending on the requirement.
Project Initiation Notes (PIN) / Project Plans provide a detailed and technical overview of the planned implementation of a project using project management standards and resourcing models.
Business Cases are increasingly becoming redundant in an age where access to financial models, PINs, Finance Packs and Project Notes often provides all of the relevant information to allow comprehensive due diligence on a project. A full business case is a major undertaking, which, while it has benefits within itself, can be onerous and expensive. However, there remain institutions that demand formally prepared business cases, often within a format that they define.
Online
An online presence is increasingly seen as essential to the delivery of a project.
Building a presence online means tailoring key information on a project to suit multiple channels, from the simplicity of 140 characters on Twitter to the design and detail required to generate a website.
A website is at the centre of a projects public profile. CPF can assist in the design, provision of the correct level of information and interactivity as well as deciding what functionality is required. We deliver and manage websites in-house or by utilising trusted design partners.
Social Media strategy is ever evolving and increasingly important to the profile of a project. CPF provide social media strategies that aim to balance accessibility with high levels of automation to ensure that target audiences are reached without requiring overwhelming resources.
